Mimosa !!! My favorite flowers as a child. In the 1970s Netherlands they were sold as tiny twigs in a plastic folder. They said they flew them in from south Africa! If you were lucky put them in warm water they would maybe show some felty yellowish little balls. They still fascinated me. Nothing to do with this lush voluptuous beauty growing around my corner! Every year I am longing to see this tree in its full splendor. I might have one myself…. One day.

11 years and some days ago I got married in Soupex. I wanted a no non-sens very simple and basic fun party with all our loved ones together in our house, offering at that time, only 2 bath and a pool 😁. I wanted my marriage to be like a making of a video clip : every one present participates in the making so we could all share the same experience without hierarchy or differences in importance. A couple of days before I went to the local marriage dress shop with Linda and found a vintage dress in the sales department that fitted me, 1m80 tall, perfectly. Amazing they had that available in this area, girls here mostly measure at least 2 heads less… we grabbed a street musician 2 days before the event (he didn’t blink and did a great job), hubby’s cousins family turned out to be a whole orchestra playing and the newspaper even wrote about it (they mixed up the village name with another all though the journalist lives in Soupex). But the best part was that we all ended up, me in my dress at first, followed by my new husband with his phone and my dad fully dressed right in the pool. It was hot, lovely and memorable. 🤍🤍🤍
